Press Release 10th May 2010
Two new Classrooms for Scoil Mhuire National School Lucan – Curran
Scoil Mhuire Girls National School in Lucan is set to benefit from two new mainstream classrooms, according to Local Fianna Fáil T.D. and Minister John Curran.
Welcoming the news Minister Curran said: “I am delighted that funding has been made available to Scoil Mhuire National School. Additional school accommodation in Lucan has been a priority of mine and I have raised the importance of this matter to the Tánaiste and new Minister for Education, Mary Coughlan T.D.
“This announcement came in the same week that funding was approved for additional classrooms in Lucan Community College and for many repair works and projects in our local schools around the area. It is further evidence of this Government’s commitment to the provision of school places in the Lucan area.
The Building Unit of the Department of Education will be in contact with each school shortly in relation to the amount of funding approved for each project.
“This funding will mean that our children will have better learning facilities while providing additional schools places for the growing population in Lucan,” concluded Minister Curran.
