New teaching posts for Lucan and Clondalkin Schools - Curran
St. Mary’s National School in Esker, Lucan, Scoil Mhuire primary school in Lucan and Scoil Naomh Íde in Clondalkin are set to receive new teaching posts from the Department of Education in the coming days, according to Minister of State and local Fianna Fáil T.D. John Curran.
“Minister for Education, Batt O’Keeffe T.D. confirmed with me that the renewed Programme for Government included a commitment to allocate 200 posts between primary and post-primary levels in the current school year.
“Following consultations with the education partners 100 of these posts are being allocated at primary level and Lucan and Clondalkin national schools are set to benefit on account of their increased enrolments in the current school year.
“This is very welcome news to three of our local schools in Clondalkin and Lucan. One additional post to each of these schools will go a long way in alleviating any pressure on staff and students. These posts will be issued to each school in the coming days”, concluded Minister Curran.
